Laura Mercier Illiminating Tinted Moisturiser Review

I bought this quite a while ago from Space NK in Belfast and I paid £32. I have given it a good test drive and here is my review:)

This is a lovely product and delivers what it says it will. It contains an SPF20 which is great for all year round use. Remember that SPF should be worn every day, even in winter to slow down the wrinkle development. It is suitable for all skin types and the coverage is buildable. I however, don't build my coverage as I prefer my coverage to be light. It evens out my skin tone and it goes a long way to cover my dark circles under my eyes. Not as good as a foundation but absolutely better than any other tinted moisturiser I have tried.

It somes in a tube containing 50ml. Most products of this type come in either 30 or 50ml so this will last you a long time (obviously depending on frequency of use and coverage required). A little bit of this product goes a long way, so use it sparingly as the first time I used it I squeezed too much out of the tube. Doing this too often can result in an expensive waste. Remember it's easier to take it out of the tube than to put it back in:)

Here I am sporting the TM.

This is with 1 layer of product on and I think it does give a dewy/glowy finish. There are tiny particles of shimmer in the TM which are what create the glow. They are small and subtle and will not make you look like a Cullen caught in the sunlight. However, if you prefer a matte finish then avoid this.

I love this TM, it's perfect for days when I can't be bothered with too much make up but I want to look well. I have a tendency to look very pale and a little bit of TM and a cream blush can stop people asking me if I'm ok.

Have you tried any Laura Mercier products?

Nails of the Day

Yesterday I thought it would be fun to try a stripey nail, using the new Nail Paints from Barry M. I used the Nail Paints in Pale Yellow and pale blue. The yellow on it's own was a strange colour. It made me look slightly ill, like I had jaundice or something, and also slightly Simpsonesque. Neither is a look I aspire to lol but the addition of the blue stripes made it into a really wearable and fun look:)

As with any other Barry M Nail Paint that I have tried, the quality of these is excellent and this morning my nails have survived an hour in the pool and don't look any the worse for wear.

Here is my YouTube tutorial on this look:

Review - Garnier Pure Active Deep Pore Unclogging Wash

I was sent this product for review purposes.

I have been using this product for a few months now and am able to give you my honest opinion of it. I hate it when people review products after 1 or 2 uses so I do try to aim to have been using a product for a couple of months at least before a review.
This product is aimed at young skin that is prone to spots. I fit into neither category but for the love of my blog and to give you an honest opinion I have been using this anyway.
It contains 2% Salicylic acid which is the anti bacterial, spot fighting ingredient and HerbaSoothe, a derivative of blueberry which is caring and soothing.
It is a blue soap which comes in a pump. To be used daily on wet skin. It has quite a pleasant antiseptic smell and lathers up really well. It is an extremely effective cleanser and I have used it to remove make up in the shower. Normally when I do this I have to cleanse again when I get out of the shower but not with this stuff. Not a trace of make up is left behind. It's a great time saver!!
My skin is dry and when I use this it immediately feels tight. I know dry skin does feel tight after cleansing anyway but in this case it feels even more tight. However that is quickly remedied with some toner and moisturiser. This is probably more suited to an oily/combination skin type.
Would I buy this myself? No because it is not right for my skin, however if I were prone to spots and a few years younger then yes I would.
Would I recommend this? Yes if you are late teens/early twenties, oily/combination skin and prone to spots.

James Brown Freebies in Glamour Magazine

The April 2010 issue of Glamour Magazine has some lovely James Brown freebies. There are 3 to choose from and are each worth £10. From the Intensively Glossy range you can choose from shampoo, conditioner or the rescue treatment.

I chose the rescue treatment (you get 100ml) and I may pick up the shampoo as well. You can of course by 3 copies of the magazine to get all 3 items. The rescue treatment can be used after shampooing so I think I'll skip the regular conditioner and pick up another magazine with the shampoo in it. I am a great believer of using products from the same range. I do believe that they are developed to work better togther.

I have never tried any James Brown products and am looking forward to trying them out. Hve you tried any James Brown stuff? What are your thoughts?

Nails of the Day

Here I am sporting OPI's Dancing in the Isles. I love this polish as it's not too bright/dark and perfect for every day wear. If you can wear nail polish to work then this would be a perfect choice:)

I have used a base coat and applied 2 coats of the OPI Dancing In The Isles. It applies really well like all OPI polishes that I have tried and it doesn't streak. It might even be my new fave lol:)

What's your fave polish of the moment?
