Eyelashes To Dye For

Almost everyone is after beautiful long lashes. Unfortuntately some of us are not blessed in that department:((( I have never had really great eyelashes but I have learned to live with it. My lower lashes are especially sparse and also very fair. I am loathe to use any eyelash growth products. I'm just not convinced that they are safe to use and as my peepers are quite important to me I will avoid these products like the plague.

The only solution I have found to do anything for me is eyelash tinting. I had never had this done until I started studying Beauty Therapy but now I do it regularly. I don't like to pay to have this done so I do tint my own eyelashes. It's not easy but it does get better with practice. However I would not recommend this at home and would advise anyone thinking of tinting eyelashes to get it done professionally. It costs around £10 in a salon and will last up to 6 weeks.

Below I have a pic of my own eyelashes. One eye has been tinted and the other hasn't. I do think it's quite obvious which one has been tinted, so there are no prizes for guessing it right lol. I'm sorry about the qulaity of the pic but I need more megapixels!! My current camera only has 5.2. Ideally I would like 10 or 12 but I need to save up for a better camera. In the meantime I hope this gives you an idea of what eyelash tinting can do for your eyelashes. For me I love it because it gives me some noticable lower lashes, it makes any mascara I use much better and if I want to skip the mascara I don't feel as "naked" without it lol

For anyone who can't tell it is my right eye which has the tinted lashes. I have also just tinted my eyebrows (another great treatment if you are lacking in colour in the brows) but the pic was taken before I waxed them. Now they are neat!! I always feel so much better when I have my eyelashes tinted and my eyebrows tinted and waxed.

Do you tint your eyelashes? Have you any other tricks for eyelashes?

Lush Yummy Yummy Yummy Review

If you watch my YouTube videos then you will have seen this product feature in my Lush Haul video. I have now used over half the bottle and therefore can give you a good review.

This is a 250g size bottle and cost me £6.25. I bought if on the website rather than visiting the store. It was delivered quickly.

This is a shower cream wash and because it's a cream it doesn't lather very well. It does however smell absolutely divine and the scent lingers on your skin for most of the day. I love that part of it:) I keep getting a whiff of it every now and again and it's just gorgeous.

It can also be used on your hair but I haven't done that and I don't hink I would. If it doesn't lather well on my body then it probably wont lather well on my hair either and I definitely need my shampoo to lather up.

It can be purchased in 3 different sizes (ans therefore 3 different prices)

100g is £3.10
250 is £6.25 and
500 is £10

I do think this is quite expensive for a shower cream. It doesn't work well with my shower scrunchie thingy. I swear by these for making your shower gel last longer and because this doesn't work well with it I am using it up faster.

Would I repurchase?

Probably although not for a while. I do like a lather and my next shower gel will have to deliver that lol

Do you like Lush? What are your fave items?

Keeping The Wrinkles At Bay

Today I was unable to resist the sign at my local Estee Lauder Counter that said "Gift Time" was on again. I am a sucker for these and also a firm believer that if I'm going to buy the stuff anyway then I should wait until a Gift Time is running before making any purchases.

I went in and (for once) the Estee Lauder assistant was there. She was lovely and showed me some special sets that they had. I think it's time for me to think about stepping up a gear as far as moisturiser goes. The wrinkles are appearing and I need a good moisturiser that will help to combat them.

So I settled for this set.

Estee Lauder Beautiful Skin Solutions - Anti-wrinkle.

Most of the products I have used before and loved but the "new" thing for me is the Time Zone Moisturiser and Time Zone Eye Cream. I'm looking forward to trying these out and seeing if they make any difference or not.

The set also includes Soft Clean Foaming Cleanser and Toner, Perfectionist serum, 2 bags (a small one and a large one) and 2 empty bottles for decanting the products into when travelling. I thought that was a pretty neat idea.

This set cost me £47 and it contains over £100 worth of products.

I also bought an eyeliner (Doublewear eyeliner in Bronze) which I have been after for a while and then of course I got my gift with purchase. I'm altogether a happy EL shopper:)

Clinique Update

So, after my disappointment yesterday I checked out a different Clinique counter today. The girl there was more "switched on" and was able to tell me that there had been a delay in the goods coming from the warehouse but they would be on the counters on Monday!! Hurray:)

Let Down By Clinique Today:(

Clinique were supposed to launch their new Juiced Up range on their counters today. I got this information straight from their website http://www.clinique.co.uk/

Being the sad make up junkie that I am and also being a huge Clinique fan I rushed to my local counter this morning to check it out and I was busting to get my hands on the new Instant Lift For Brows (brows are my latest obsession).

I made my way to the counter and had a quick glance across it to see the display of the new goodies. I spotted it and went over for closer inspection. The Clinique lady came over to me to offer her assistance. When I asked for the Instant Lift For Brows she said that they didn't actually have it in and that the display items were simply to show what was coming in the future. WTF!!!! I assured her that I had read on the website that these items would be available to buy on the counters on Friday. She then found a Clinique leaflet thingy that backed up my story. The items were indeed due to be on the counters today.

She still didn't have any but she assured me that she would get on to her area manager and see why they weren't in yet. She took my phone number and said she'd call me. I still haven't received that call:(

I have been a massive fan of Clinique for more years than I care to think about. I am extremely disappointed today with the lack of knowledge/products at my local counter. What a big let down for me:(

I will be attempting another counter tomorrow;0

LOTD

This is the look I was wearing today:) I'll be uploading a tutorial of it to Youtube tomorrow night.

My arm is casting a strange looking shadow across my face. I swear I don't have a 5 o'clock shadow thing going on lol. The rest of the photos I took had major static hair going on (even worse than in these 2 pics). It's just one of those days lol

That Little Black Box

I just love getting that little black box delivered from Mac. There is just something so nice about it. I love love love the excitement of it!!

This time I only ordered blushers, eyeliners and a shadestick. So here's what I got:

Shadestick in Taupographic
Blusher in Harmony
Cream Blush in Ladyblush
Kohl Power Eye Pencils in Feline (this appears to have disappeared off the website now), Raven (legseleven7 told me I needed this and I thought it sounded like a good idea) and I also got the only other Kohl Power pencil which is Sense of Style (well it seemed such a shame to leave that one out lol).

So far I have only used the Shadestick (which I love), Raven (which I also love and thanks to Legseleven7 for suggesting it) and Sense of Style, a beautiful dark blue which is almost black. It's a great option if you want a change from black or if black is a bit too harsh on you.

Here are the goodies opened. My camera isn't great which is why I don't do swatches. I don't see the point in doing them if the camera isn't great. I really need more megapixels lol.
Have you had a great purchases from Mac or anywhere else lately?
