Urban Decay Haul

So as you all know I was at Debenhams yesterday to get my hands on some Illamasqua. Yeah!! While I was there I decided to get a few Urban Decay things as there was 10% off. This is what I got:

First of all I got the 24/7 Glide on pencil in Bourbon. I mentioned this the other day in my May Favourites video on YT because I love the black one but wanted to try a more every day wearable brown for me. I haven't tried it yet but if the black is anything to go by it will be well loved.

Then I got the Ammo palette. This now comes with a full size UDPP!! The colours are amazing and I can't wait to get playing with this baby lol!!

Finally I got the Sustainable palette. Again another lovely collection of colours!! I love UD!!

Have you fallen in love with UD yet? If you have what are your must haves? I already have the Deluxe palette and love it but these 2 have more every day kind of colours in them.

Illamasqua At Last!!

Today as I was in Belfast to get my hair cut and highlighted I treated myself to a few delights in Debenhams. I was on a tight time schedule (also good for my budget except when panic buying mode kicks in lol). So I arrived in Debenhams on a mission to find Illamasqua. I walked straight past Mac, Estee Lauder and Clinique without so much as a second glance and marched around the beauty counters. I couldn't find Illamasqua!! Where the heck did they put it? I was just about to give up (I didn't want to look too stupid by asking anyone where it was) when I spotted Urban Decay. There was 10% off all cosmetics today and I have been after some more Urban Decay for a while now (blog post coming up tomorrow on UD). So I chose my items and went to the counter to pay. I swallowed my pride and asked the sales assistant where Illamasqua was and she told me (at least I hadn't been dreaming about it being in Debenhams in Belfast lol). They have hidden it round the back of Urban Decay. I thought it could have had a more prominent position in the store but sadly no. It's forgotten about at the back of every other beauty counter.

The Illamasqua sales assistant approached me and asked me if I needed any help. I told her the usual that I was just looking and she said to give her a shout if I needed anything. I basically knew what I wanted but wanted to have a nosey around anyway. I wanted a blusher and a lipgloss. Then another customer engaged the sales assistant in trying some foundation and as time was running out I felt Illamasqua slipping through my fingers!! I could not leave empty handed but I needed to be served now if I was to make may hair appointment. So I grabbed the Bare Minerals lady and she served me thank god lol!! So this is what I got:

This blusher called out to me and I had to have it. It's called Nymph and it's gorgous. Look how pigmented the swatch is!!

I also wanted the lipgloss in Rouse after seeing Mizzworthy's review of the glosses on YT. Thanks Jen.

I love them both and can't wait to try them out properly tomorrow.

Have you any Illamasqua? What are the must have products? I fancy that matte white powder I've seen people use as a highlight.

My New Hair Cut and Colour

Today I got my highlights done again (full head) and I've gone a bit more blonde in time for summer!! I also had a hair cut as well. Just a little tidy up as I'd quite like to see how long I can grow it. I'm really happy with the colour and the cut. I feel like a new woman lol!! I just love how hairdressers can dry hair straight. It never looks this good when I do it myself lol!

Face of the Day

Today I tried out my new Prestige Baked Minerals and I have to say I'm impressed. As today was a Bank Holiday in the UK (and I was off!) it was a bit of a lazy day. Taking the kids to an indoor play area and having lunch out were the order of the day. My eyebrows are freshly tinted and plucked after my most recent YouTube videos.

On my face I am wearing:
Mac Select Tint
Mac MSF Natural
Mac Pink Swoon blusher
Prestige Baked Mineral MSF rip off which is excellent!! I think it gives me the desired glow.

On my eyes I am wearing the palette I got (can't think of the name - see previous blog post) on top of Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Eyeshadow base, EL Double wear stay in place eyeshadow cream in Pink Blush.
Clinique Cream Liner in Black Honey and Rimmel Sexy Curves in Brown/Black.

On my lips I am wearing Mac Hue (I love love love this lippy!!).

This review was requested by Superficialgirl. I hope you all find it helpful. I love this stuff. I've been using it every day since I got it. It's my new HG blush base!

Good Service at Boots

After my bad Boots experience the other day I took myself to another Boots today for a second go. I went to a larger Boots in Belfast and was able to get served!! Yay!! There was actually an Estee Lauder girl on the Estee Lauder counter - shock horror!! She was busy when I arrived but she made a point of acknowledging me and said she would be with me shortly. Whilst I was waiting another couple of customers came up the counter and she acknowledged them as well. I already knew what I wanted so that made it easier.

The Gift Time gift consisted of:

Lipstick in 31 Spiced Coral
Advanced Night Repair (I love this stuff!)
Sensuous Perfume (I've never tried this before but I'm liking it!)
Take It Away Total Make Up Remover
Eyeshadow Quad in 05 Spiced Peach
Double Wear Mascara in Black

The lipstick and the eyeshadow came in a choice of 2 different sets. I chose the browny one and there was also a blue/purple one.

With it came 3 (yes 3!!! ) make up bags. This is the part of these gifts that I don't like. I have a mountain of these bags. There are only so many make up bags a girl needs lol.

To get this gift I had to purchase 2 Estee Lauder products. I got the Double Wear Stay In Place Shadow Creme in 01 Pink Blush. This is gorgeous. These eyeshadows are basically like a Mac paint pot. I'll do a review/comparison when I've used this a bit more.

I also got the Double Wear Stay in Place Shadow Stick in 06 Bronze. This is like a Mac Shadestick (so much so that I have found a Mac one and an Estee Lauder one that are identical not just similar!!). I'm loving bronze colours at the minute to bring out the blue in my eyes.

As this was a larger Boots I had the added bonus of looking at different cosmetics that aren't stocked in any Boots local to me. I've heard so much on here about the Prestige Minerals that I made a bee line for them. I got:

Baked Shadow Quad in 03 Bijou
Baked Mineral Blush in 01 Pink
Mineral Bronzing Powder in 03 Pure Shimmer

I can't wait to try out my new goodies!!

Mac Haul Video

Tag - Getting to Know You

Thanks to Jazz for tagging me. Check out her blog. It's awesome!! http://jassydevil.blogspot.com/ It's taken me a while to do this but here it is!!

What made you choose your blog?

I wanted a place to obsess about all things beauty. I had started to love reading other peoples blogs and decided I should start one up myself. I also wanted it to compliment my YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/Jenny9119999 and started them both around the same time.

What's your actual name?

Jennifer

Do you have any nicknames?

Not really just Jen and Jenny. I used to be called Casper (ie the friendly ghost) in work but that seems to have been forgotten.

Apart from the obvious make up / beauty hobby, what other hobbies do you have?

I love to read and swim. I also go to a kick boxing class to keep fit.

What would you like to do?

I'm already in my dream job but I'd love to make a success of YouTube and my blog.

Tell us something embarrassing, but that you love doing?

I love watching The Sound of Music. I know all the words (songs and lines) from the whole film and could act every part (if I could act of course lol).

Tell us a little something that we don't already know about you.

I am a qualified beauty therapist and aromatherapist but I work in a totally unrelated field.

What achievement are you most proud of?

Giving birth to 2 beautiful children (not at the same time).

What do you most like about yourself?

My sense of humour.

What would you change about yourself if you could?

I'd like a little more patience.

If you could have anything in the world (that doesn't cost any money), what would you want?

I want to stay healthy and happy for as long as possible and for everyone I know to do the same.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. Well done if you've made it this far!! I haven't answered the question about what I do as I don't want to disclose this information at the present. Thanks for reading!!

I tag Happy1234, Kerry Loves Mac and Lovelipstickandlime if they haven't already been tagged and anyone else who wants to do this.

Dramatic Orange Eyes LOTD

Here is my dramatic orange eye look. I wanted to use a bright orange to make the blue in my eyes stand out more. I think I have achieved this. I have used my Coastal Scents Double Stack palette. The pigmentation is amazing!!

I will hopefully be uploading the tutorial of this to YouTube over the next few days.

MAC Haul

So I have completely abandoned Project 10 Pan. Who needs it anyway? I placed an order with Mac last Friday and it arrived yesterday. Hooray!!! Here are some pics of my new babies.

I got
Pro pan blusher in Pink Swoon
Pro Pan eyeshadows in Stars n Rockets and Amber Lights
Just a Pich Gel Blush (I am most excited about this)
2 Lipsticks - A Rose Romance and Angel
3 Dazzleglasses - Moth to Flame, Stop! Look! and Like Venus
I can't wait to get trying them all. Tomorrow I am going to do a YouTube haul video so you can check that out if you want to see more of these.

Bad Service at Boots

Why is it when you are just browsing the sales assistants come and ask you if you need any help but when you actually want to buy something there are no sales assistants in 100 mile radius!! Aggghhhhh!!!! Today I went to one of my local Boots to buy some Estee Lauder and get the Gift Time gift. I had more or less decided what I wanted, however I swatched a few items just to make sure I was choosing the right items. I was there long enough to cover the back of my hand in many swatches (see pics). I even left the EL counter and had a quick look at the make up isle and back to EL. Still no sign of a sales assistant or an EL assistant.

I ended up leaving empty handed. Sure my purse will thank me but I'm so annoyed at the crap service (ie no service) I received today.
Anyone else have any recent bad experiences at a make up counter?

A Different Kind of Beauty and a Dilemma

Well summer may have arrived in the last few days so I thought I'd share some pitures of my wee country with you. Like anywhere in the world it is glorious in the sunshine! These pics were taken yesterday afternoon on a drive on the Ard Peninsula, looking out over Strangford Lough. You can see Scrabo tower in the last picture. I hope you enjoy!

Now for my dilemma. As you know I have pledged (again) to Project 10 Pan. Yesterday I got one of those postcards from Estee Lauder at Boots about the Gift Time starting on Thursday. These promotions are my big downfall and I'm now thinking about what I can buy to get it. I have no will power lol!

Project 10 Pan Update

Well I lasted all of about a week on Project 10 Pan lol!! I've been on a bit of a spree so now I'm going to restart this. I'm also going to join Faffoholic on her spending diet. So here are my pledges:

No new make up until I have hit pan on at least 10 items. I am including skin care in this as it will take me forever otherwise.

No spending on unneccessary treats (unless McDonalds for the kids).

Wish me luck!!

Eyeko

My order from Eyeko arrived today and thanks to the code from the lovely Happy1234 I got a freebie with it! I got the pink 3 in 1 cream that so many people have mentioned, a nail polish, a fat balm and a Manga Make Up book in Make Out Girl. My freebie was 4 individually wrapped wipes.

And it was nicely presented in this cute bag!!

I wore the 3 in 1 cream today mixed in with my normal moisturiser. It was lovely. It felt really nice on my skin and I thought it looked lovely on. I have no pics as I was so tired today I didn't want to frighten you all lol but I thought this cream really helped to brighten me up. Maybe I'll take a pic tomorrow.
What are your fave Eyeko products?

My Favourite Wet N Wild Product

Without a doubt I am loving the Wet N Wild Mega Glow. This is a lovely product. I have the pinky coloured one and there is a more bronzy one (which I am going to go back and get). This has a bit of sparkle in it but it's not too much. I have worn it every day since I got it. Here is another of my subtle looks I created with it.

I am wearing a tinted moisturiser from Marks and Spencer mixed with a No17 skin illuminator (not sure if this is still available). On my cheeks I have an Estee Lauder cream blusher and I have set this with Mac MSF Natural in light/medium. On my eyes I have Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Eyeshadow Base with Mac Paint Pot in Rubenesque on top. Body Shop clear Lash and brow gel on lases and brows. I have swept the Mega Glow over the apples of my cheeks and on my eyelids. Finally on my lips I have Mac Lipstick in Hue (fast becoming my favourite lipstick ever!).

If you only try one thing from Wet N Wild I say you should try this. I love love love it!!

I Went a Bit Wild!!

Following my initial purchases of Wet N Wild from Tesco I just couldn't help myself and went back for more. Well at £1.87 an item and on 3 for 2 who could blame me? So here's a pic of what I got this time and I'm thinking about going back for more!

New Coastal Scents Palette

About a month ago I got this new palette from Coastal Scents. I love their palettes (I have most of them lol) and their customer service is great. You always get a wee free sample too. However with the economy as it is and the exchange rate as rubbish as it is I would advise anyone in the UK to wait until this pops up on eBay to get a better deal. It is a lovely palette and worth having but it can work out very expensive at the present time. Remeber you will also have to pay customs charges. Altogether I think this palette cost me in the region of £40-45. I suppose that isn't bad considering what you get in the palette but it's just so depressing when not that long ago the pound was stronger and shopping from the States was better value.

I must do some looks with this for my blog soon!! Anyone else got this or any other CS palettes?

My New Brows

My eyebrows were in need of some attention (as were other parts of me lol) so at the weekend I had a waxing session. I also tinted my brows and lashes. I took a bit more off my brows than normal so that they are thinner than usual at the inner corner. I'm very pleased with the result. I am also wearing my new Wet n Wild eyeshadow here.

Wet n Wild at Tesco

Ok hands up who knew you could get Wet n Wild at Tesco? I just discovered this on Saturday. I was in one of the larger stores and was pleasantly surprised to see it. All the items are £1.87 (bargain or what?) and are currently on 3 for 2 so even better. This is what I bought. I'll let you know what I think of the items. I was especially pleased to get the Mega Glow!!

Anyone else seen this in their Tesco?

Primark Make Up and a new Bag

I was on a bit of a spending spree today. I decided that I need a big bag. I'm usually a tiny, non existent sort of bag person but lately I have been lusting after big bags. Today I found the perfect one. It's a good size and was only £10. It's by F&F at Tesco. I just have to move my stuff into it. Although come to think of it the contents of my tiny bag will be lost in there. I'm sure it won't be long til it's filled with all sorts of rubbish lol!!

So I also picked up some of the Primark make up. It's such a bargain at £1 per item. I got a palette (well I had to make up for not finding the Sleek palette didn't I? (see previous post)) and some pigments. The pigment jars come in packs of 2 so effectively they are 50p each. I'll report back soon on how I get on.

Anyone else tried Primark make up?

Just For Fun

Today I went on a quest for the Sleek Palette. It wasn't in my local Superdrug and I'm sure I have seen it somewhere in real life lately. Anyway I decided to visit the Superdrug in the next town, convincing myself that it must have been there (how sad am i? lol!). It wasn't there either but there was a Primark so I decided to get the kids some summer stuff. My little girl (who is 4) saw a fake hair type thing. It's like a bobble with hair coming out if it. She really wanted it and as it was only £1 I got it for her. When I got home I thought it would be fun to try it out. So here I am in all my £1 fake hair glory.

From the back it looks ridiculous as there isn't enough hair to hide my own hair but I had good fun prancing around the house in it for a while. Just have to remember not to go out in it though! It was nice to have the feel of long hair and now I want to grow mine again.

The sunglasses I bought to actually wear outside. I'm not really a sunglasses person but these were £2 so I couldn't resist!!
