Clinique Bonus Time

I love Clinique Products but I always wait for a Bonus Time to be on before I purchase. My patience has been well rewarded this time. My local counter has a Bonus Time on now and I needed to buy (yes I actually did need this stuff lol) an All About Eyes eye cream (my HG of eye creams) and a bottle of brush cleanser. I spent £30.50 on these 2 items.

So I got the following freebies (yeah!! I love free stuff!!). It is presented in a lovely make up bag this time (I've got like a million Bonus Time make up bags but another one is always welcomed into my home lol). The make up bag is very pretty. Lovely for summer. It contained a bottle of Happy perfume (love it and have a big bottle of it), Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion (can't go wrong there), Rinse-off Foaming cleanser (love it and it's one I keep coming back to), Moisture Surge extended Thirst Relief (never tried it but it sounds like something I would love), High Impact Mascara (again can't go wrong), Full Potential Lips Plump and Shine Lip Gloss (love this stuff too and this is a colour I haven't tried before).

I am very happy with my stuff and am glad I waited for Bonus Time. Do you like Bonus Time (at Clinique or elsewhere)? Would you wait for something that you needed just to get the freebies?

Rimmel London Lycra Pro Nail Polish

This is the new nail polish by Rimmel London which promises "mistake free application" with it's "new maxi brush". The colour I am wearing is Baby Pink. I have 2 coats of it on top of a base coat.

The colour looks more vibrant in the picture than in real life. It's a really pretty pink colour. Not too light but not too in your face either. I have to say that I love this brush!! It's such fun using it. It is quite idiot proof and I managed the mistake free application that was promised. I applied it in poor lighting as well and I think I have done a pretty good job (if I say so myself lol). It applies very easily with the larger brush although I wasn't able to apply it with just one stroke per nail.
I'll report back with an update of how long it lasts before chipping. It says on the bottle "up to 10 days". We'll see.

Nars Haul

I have never owned a Nars product before or even tried one. So I guess it was only a matter of time before I was tempted what with all the mentions of Nars on Blogger and on YouTube.
Last week I went to Space NK in Belfast. I have never been in a Space NK before. It looks so organised and clean and pristine from the outside that I have never relished the thought of going in with my kids in tow lol. However the lure of Nars became too strong and I braved it with my kids. They were very well behaved (the promise of going to Build a Bear helped a bit) and the girl who served me was so nice and very helpful.
I wanted Laguna, Sabrina, Orgasm powder blush and orgasm multiple. I managed to get a set with orgasm blusher and laguna together with an orgasm nail polish. I also got the multiple but they didn't have Sabrina lip balm. The girl told me if I called the Space NK mail order line that they would send it out to me with free postage. So as soon as I got home I phoned and it arrived 2 days later. I thought this was a great service and was glad not to have to pay postage as it was a fiver!! Here are my pics of what I got.
What are your favourite Nars products?

Project 10 Pan

I'm sure most of you will have read about this idea on Lollipop26's blog. I've decided to give it a whirl although I take forever to use stuff up so I may not make it to 10. I'll probably aim for 5 or count skincare as stuff I can use up as I'm almost finished a toner, day cream, night cream and a serum. Is this cheating a bit? Anyone else joining in? Basically you have to use up 10 make up items before you can buy any new stuff. Good luck if you are joining in!!

Girls Aloud Lashes

Well I had to follow the crowd and go straight to my local Superdrug to get these. My local Superdrug had all the lashes in stock so I got my pick of them all. I decided to get 2 sets and went for Nicola's (because she's my faveourite and a fellow paley) and Kimberley's (because I thought hers were the nicest). So here is my pic. I'll do a look with these soon and I'm planning to wear my faveourite ones to the concert in 10 days time. Is that too sad for a grown up? lol

Penny Shadestick and Cranberry Eyeshadow

Here is a look I created using my new Penny Shadestick. I was totally obsessed with this until I got it. It was one of those items I "had" to have. I love it though. I think it brings out the blue of my eyes very well. I am wearing cranberry in the crease and Rimmel Sexy curves mascara in brown/black and Mac vanilla eyeshadow as a highlight. This is my all time faveourite highlight. It's so soft a texure it goes on like a dream. Love it love it love it!!! I'm also wearing Mac Hue on ly lips.

Beautyuk palette look

This is the look I wore a few days ago using the Beautyuk brown/black palette. I like it. The shadows are great. Very pigmented and lasted all day. I also curled my hair with my new conical wand. I know I have to jump on the bandwagon lol. This pic was taken on a day out. I managed to confuse my son as he knew there was something different about me but couldn't quite pin point it. He did work it out though lol.

Update on Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion

This morning after my shower this stuff was coming off like dirt onto the towel!! It is very patchy now and I look like I have a weird skin pigmentation thing going on. I did apply it again after the shower to see if it can look as good as it did at the start.

LOTD

Today was the 2nd day I tried my samples of the Mac Studio Sculpt. I am wearing:

Face

NW15 with MSF natural in light/medium

Mac Pinch 'o Peach blusher

Estee Lauder signature cream blush as a base (I don't think this is still available)

Eyes

Painterly paint pot

Naked Lunch on the lid

Shadowy Lady in the crease

Next To Nothing as a highlight

Body Shop Lash and Brow Gel in clear on my brows

Rimmel Sexy Curves Mascara in Brown/black

Rimmel Lipstick in Nude Pink

I love this combo on my eyes and I have to say that so far I am impressed with the Studio Sculpt.

Review: Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion

I am not one for a tan normally but with all these beauty blogs and Youtube videos I am addicted to I have decided to try and become a bronze goddess this year lol!! I am really pale, in fact I'm the palest person I know and have had my paleness commented on all my life. I have got used to it but now I'm ready for a change.

I decided to try the Dove Summer Glow in light to medium because I want a tan that is buildable and not in your face so to speak. With it being half price in Boots it was even more attractive.

I started using it about 10 days ago and at the beginning I loved it. It was natural looking and smelt quite nice when I first applied it. It was very easy to blend in and I believe I was streak free!! However during the day I noticed that it did smell like fake tan. It did give me a gradual build up of cover which I liked but now it's in the stages where it is partly wearing off and I hate that part. It also wore off in a patch under my watch and has settled into my creases, especially in the inner elbows.

Having said all that I have never had a fake tan that doesn't wear off in this way and hasn't settled in my creases eventually. I have had about 4 applications over the 10 days and I'll top it up again in the morning after my shower.

All in all for £2.44 in Boots I can't really complain about this product and I do feel better with a slight tan, especially if the weather is good.

Has anyone else tried this product? How did you get on with it?

Hooray for Mac Samples!!

On Wednesday I went to Mac. I really wanted to buy the new Studio Sculpt foundation. I currently wear NW20 in Select Tint but I wasn't sure if I needed NW20 or if maybe NW15 would do. So for this reason I went to try them out in person. Unfortunately they did not have any NW20 in stock so the MUA gave me a sample of each. I think the samples were quite generous and was really pleased. I had to go to Boots to purchase the pots myself but I used my Advantage Card points for that. Happy days!! Here is a pic of my samples. They do look a little dark in this picture. NW20 is the top one. I can't wait to try them out!!
Any tips for getting more samples at Mac?
