Tresemme Smooth Glossing Spray Review
I have been taking heed of the whole Argan oil thing. Without wanting to spend too much money i decided to try the Tresemme glossing spray. This contains Argan oil and isn't too expensive. It can be bought for £4.99 at Boots. Check out the website here.
Argan oil is from Morocco and is known for it's nourishing and smoothing benefits.
I have been using it for about a month now and have been very pleased with the results. My hair is much smoother and softer. It is more easily managed and it's very touchable. I have always wanted touchable hair. It's still not as sleek and smooth as it would be if I used straighteners but it reduces the need for straighteners as I quite like my hair with it's slight wave. Reducing the need for straighteners reduces the amount of heat I use to style my hair which has got to be good news all round!!
It comes in a spray bottle containing 75mls.
Below are a few photos of the results I get with my hair. My hair has been blow dried but not straightened. It has also been slept on. This is the day after washing.
The smell is gorgeous too. It smells like all Tresemme products and when used in conjunction with Tresemme shampoo and conditioner the effect is lovely. Every time you move your head you get a wee whiff of it and I love it!!
I bought this myself and would most likely repurchase although I am open to trying other products with Argan Oil.

Aromatherapy Associates Rose Hydrating Mist Review
This is yet another beautiful product from Aromatherapy Associates.
It is the Rose Hydrating Mist and it retails for £19.00 and can be bought here from the Aromatherapy Associates website.
It is described as "A refreshing mist which instantly tones. Pure Damask Rose Water, distilled from the delicate petals of thousands of Bulgarian roses, leaves skin hydrated and refreshed. Perfect to apply over makeup and a must have for dry conditions".
Directions are to apply to face and neck after cleansing or to refresh during the day.
It states on the box that it is suitable for all skin types and I would suggest that it is especially suitable for dry skin.
I have only used it as a toner after cleansing. It is lovely and cool and refreshing, helping to close the pores that have been opened by cleansing in warm water. In the summer it would be great as a refreshing mist to spray on your face during the hot days. However, as it's winter right now I can only imagine how lovely that would be. It is great for winter too though as winter tends to dry skin out and any extra little bit of moisture you can apply to your skin will help keep it moisturised through the colder months.
The only downside I can see to this product is the smell. It has quite a strong rose smell. It can be a little over bearing and if you don't like strong smells then you definitely won't find this pleasant to use. Although, given that it is an aromatherapy product you've got to expect that the smell will play a big part.
Another thumbs up for me. I love all the products that I have tried from Aromatherapy Associates and this one lives up to it's predecessors.
This was sent to me for review purposes. I would purchase this again myself.

Free Nails Inc Polish With Glamour Magazine
December's issue of Glamour magazine has a free 10ml bottle of Nails Inc polish free with it. It costs just £2 for the magazine and there are 4 different colours available. So for the cost of 4 magazines (£8) you could have 4 beautiful Nails Inc polishes.
I went for the pale pink polish. It's called Elizabeth Street.
It's a beautiful pale pink, suitable for every day wear. I have applied 2 coats of it on top of a base and followed by Seche Vite Top Coat.

October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month
As I'm sure many of you are aware October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime in the UK and one thousand women will die from the disease each month. That is a staggering figure. This is why it is vital to raise funds and awareness so that we can fight breast cancer.
The charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer has teamed up with a variety of different beauty brands from GHD to M&S to produce different products for which the charity receives a percentage. A great way to support the charity and feed your beauty addiction at the same time!!
You can see more on their website here. You can find lots of great items such as this pin from Avon:

Jergens Ultra Healing Body Moisturiser Review
Jergens recently changed their packaging and I was sent this Jergens Ultra Healing Body Moisturiser to review.
This costs £4.99 and is available in a lot of chemists and drug stores including Superdrug. You can view further details on it from the Boots website. It can be bought from Boots using Advantage points too which is always a bonus!!
I would definitely repurcahse this although as the Jergens range is quite comprehensive I would like to try out a few more of their products. I have already purchased the hand cream and my next body lotion will be the Cocoa Butter Deep Conditioning Body Moisturiser as I think this sounds so luxurious and a definite must have for healthy winter skin. It can also be viewed on the Boots website.

How Many Brushes?
A few months ago Boots had the Real Techniques brushes on 3 for 2. Well, I thought it would be rude not to so I bought 3 sets. I have since given one away in a giveaway on my Youtube channel.
Today I thought I would share with you how much I use and love, not only the brushes, but the case that the sets come with too.
One of the sets i got was the Core Collection. This is the set that has the amazing buffing brush that everyone is raving about. It is as great as they say. A separate review will be coming on that.
I love the case because i can stuff lots more brushes into it. I use it to keep all my most frequently used brushes together. It currently is home to 25 brushes. It keeps them all in the one place and I just lay it out flat when I'm using it and pick out the brush I want. Simples!!
I bought mine in a Boots store. You can find them here and they are on buy one get one half price at the minute. There really is no need to pay full price for these as they can quite often be found on offer in Boots.
Have a great weekend xx

Team GB Paralympic Nail Design
I have been totally wowed by the 2012 Paralympics. Especially the swimmers. Ellie Simmonds being my absolute favourite. I've noticed a few of the girls wearing lovely nail art for their races and thought I should have a go at recreating it. So here is my effort.
Have you been watching the Paralympics? If so, who is your favourite?

Shavata Totally Tropical Tweezer Collection
Shavata has created a collection of summer inspired slanted tweezers that will help brows stay "beach ready" between appointments.
What's that I hear you say? It's a bit late for summer! What summer! Well, I agree that it is a bit late for summer (what little sun we did have) but it's never to late to brighten up your day with a pair of pretty tweezers. And pretty is what these tweezers most definitely are.
And not just pretty but they are very sturdy and work really well. Slanted tweezers are definitely best for use on eyebrows. Most professionals would agree with that I'm sure. They are also great for poking out ingrowing hairs on other areas of your body (but that's a whole different story).
They have a wider grip area and are extremely comfortable to hold and work with. They feel like great quality tweezers and won't break the bank.
They are available from QVC in the UK and come in a variety of different designs ranging from £9.95-£14.90. The Kiwi Cocktail and Cupcakes ones that I have are only £9.95.
These were sent to me for review purposes. I would purchase these myself although I won't need to in the near future as I have these ones.
Lanolips Lip Ointment Review
Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour SPF 15 is a new lip treatment from Australia.
It contains over 60% Ultra-Pure Medical Grade Lanolin. It's inspiration came from a humble sheep farm in South Australia where creator Kirsten Carriol spent her childhood. Lanolin is a substance taken from freshly shorn sheeps wool and is a great naturally occurring moisturiser. Beware though as some people are allergic to Lanolin and if that's the case then don't even try this. However, if you are not allergic to Lanolin then this is a totally amazing lip product.
It comes in a tube like a lip gloss. It contains 12.5g and comes in 5 colours. The colour that I have is Dark Honey which is described as a "natural sweet lip glow".
The only complaint I have is the actual applicator (or lack of one). I think this product would benefit from a slanted end so that it could be applied straight to the lips. In it's present form it can be applied straight to the lips but I find it difficult to spread across my lips with it. I find it much easier to squeeze some out onto my finger and apply to my lips that way. Maybe it's just me!!
Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour SPF 15 is available from Boots stores nationwide and also from Victoria Health

John Frieda Videos on Youtube
Here are 4 fab videos from the experts at John Frieda. They do make it all look so easy!!
The 4 videos show you step-by-step guides, hosted by John Frieda celebrity hair stylists Jake Davis and Giles Robinson. The great thing about them is that they are in 2 pairs, starting with a basic look which you can then evolve into more of an evening do, such as a top knot or a beehive look!
I hope you enjoy these videos as much as I did.

Review - Aromatherapy Associates Mattifying Skin Serum
This Mattifying Skin Serum from Aromatherapy Associates has totally transformed my summer makeup wearing. Ok, we haven't had much sun to speak of here in Northern Ireland but I have found the weather to be very close a lot of the time. I'm not a big fan of the heat to be honest. It makes me hot and sticky and my make up has been known to slide off. Until now!!
The Aromatherapy Associates Mattifying Skin Serum is made for oiled or acned skin. This is definitely not my skin type as I am dry, so I have been using this in my own way to achieve the results I want. I tend to become very shiny/sweaty on my upper lip and chin during hot and humid weather. I hate the way my skin feels at these times and I hate how my makeup feels like it is sliding off. Not any more!! I apply this after my moisturiser and before my foundation to my upper lip and chin only. I don't want this to dry out my whole face. I have been using this for 2 months now and I am in love with it. So much so that if I forget to put it on in my morning rush (a frequent occurrence) I actually regret it. This stuff keeps my makeup in place for the whole day. It's a great base.
I use it my own way, not in the way it is intended to be used. If you have the correct skin type for this you will be amazed by it. If, like me, you have a small problem area you might also find it to be a revolution for the summer months.
It costs £32 and is available from Aromatherapy Associates Boutique and Treatment Rooms, 5 Montpelier Street, London, SW7 1EX, Tel 020 7838 1117. (Doesn't that place sound divine?)
It is also available from leading hotel and destination spas, worldwide and from Space NK, Liberty and Fortnum and Mason.
This was sent to me for review purposes and I will definitely be repurchasing. I am so happy that this is available from Space NK as I have one not too far away.
This is definitely a new summer essential for me.

Handy Handbag Brush
A recent purchase is this handy compact brush. It is a mirror with a unique pop out brush made by Denman. This is a company that is based in Northern Ireland.
When you open it it looks like this.
You simply push the bristles through from the bottom to get the brush out.
It is ideal as it folds away very neatly and won't gather any fluff or dirt from your handbag. Likewise any hair on the brush won't be escaping into your handbag. And with the mirror I think it's a genius idea!!
This cost me £2.89 from Boots.

Barry M Chameleon Nail Polish
Today I bought Barry M Chameleon Nail Paint in 330 Chameleon Pink. This nail polish changes its colour when you apply clear polish on top of it. You can apply the clear polish to create your own design. Here I have done a simple application of the clear polish down one side of each nail. It's quite amazing how it actually changes colour. The polish itself is quite thick. This is with one coat of the chameleon polish on top of a base coat.
I used the Barry M 3 in 1 Base Coat, Top Coat and Nail Hardener which I already had.
Have you tried this polish yet?

Free Benefit Makeup With Glamour Magazine
It's that time of year again when Glamour Magazine teams up with Benefit Cosmetics to give away sample sizes of some of their best sellers.
This year you can choose from Bad Lash Mascara worth £10, the Pore Fessional worth £10 or That Gal primer worth £15. They went on sale on Thursday in the UK but normally take a day to reach Northern Ireland.
On Thursday I looked but to no avail. On Friday I looked again and could find tonnes of copies with Bad Gal and Pore Fessional but none with That Gal. Of course That Gal is the one I want as I have already tried the other two.
Today is Saturday and eleven shops later and I still haven't found That Gal. Again each shop had lots of the other two. Weird or what? I think it's more than a coincidence. I don't believe that all the shops could sell out of the same one. I'm actually thinking now that perhaps none of the That Gal made it to NI.
I bought one with Bad Lash mainly because I was fed up looking and wanted to read the magazine anyway. It is one that I would buy now and again.
So, I'd love to know if anyone has managed to track down the illusive That Gal. I'd love to try it but it looks like I'll have to buy the full size rather than avail of this great offer as I'm looking no more!!

John Frieda Full Repair Range
This is the latest range from John Frieda and claims to "revive over styled hair, weightlessly repairs and is for damage from heat and colour".
A sure range that will tempt heat styling junkies like myself. As much as I tell myself I love my hair with it's natural wave, I just can't deny that I prefer it when it has been straightened with my GHDs. They give me a sleek finish and the style can last for 3-4 days. Great for when I'm working a lot and don't have time to wash it. I have to admit that my hair requires more washing when I leave it to its own devices.
Enter the new John Frieda range:)
The items I am reviewing to day are the shampoo, conditioner and the heat activated styling spray. From the moment I started using these it has been love. They smell fresh and not heavily scented. The first thing I noticed after washing, conditioning and applying the heat activated spray was how easily the brush went through my wet hair. I know I should only use a comb on wet hair but hey ho this is real life and I don't always remember. The brush is usually much closer to hand;)
I use only one dose of shampoo, one dose of conditioner and then I spray the heat activated spray through my ends only. This combination gives me the shiny, glossy and healthy looking hair that I have always wanted. My hair also feels healthy to the touch. You know the kind of hair that you can't stop running your fingers through? This is definitely it for me.
My one complaint about the shampoo and conditioner is that the bottles look almost identical which makes it that bit more difficult to pick them out in the shower. You have to physically look and read the labels. However, this is a small price to pay for luscious locks. I do love how they come in an upside down style bottle. This definitely makes it easy to get the product out of the bottle, especially when nearing the end. It also means that you will get almost all of the product out of the bottles effortlessly thus saving on waste.
These are available currently at Boots and are on offer for 2 selected John Frieda products for £7.50. I would only ever buy these (or any hair care products) when they are on offer like this. They are on offer quite often and it's worth waiting for the offer and stocking up on a few bottles to keep you going until the next offer. After all, hair care is something that most of us use a lot of so you might as well save money where possible.
These items were sent to me for review. I will be repurchasing.
Have a lovely weekend xx

Fashion Targets Breast Cancer and Shavata Singh
I'm sure we've all heard of this great cause but in case you haven't here is a brief outline. Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) was set up in 1994 by Ralph Lauren who lost a friend to the disease. He wanted the fashion industry to raise awareness and funds across the globe.
It was launched in the UK in 1996 by Breakthrough Breast Cancer and I remember buying one of the tee shirts from the first campaign. It was big and baggy and had the FTBC logo on it. It was long before the days of fitted tee shirts.
Now the brow guru Shavata Singh has teamed up with FTBC to raise funds and awareness by creating a range of exclusive tweezers and matching compact set. Each product carries a 30% donation to FTBC and the range includes a pair of Shavata's FTBC slanted tweezers in stylish white or black at £9.95 as well as a stainless steel mirrored compact at £12.95. All include the iconic Fashion Targets Breast Cancer logo.
The limited edition products will launch at Shavata brow studios on 1st May 2012 but are available to pre-order online here from 1st April for one month only to be delivered 1st May.
I think you'll agree that these are beautiful items and as they are for such a worthy cause you need not feel any guilt!! The perfect reason to shop!!

Introducing the Full Repair range by John Frieda!
John Frieda is launching a new range of hair care in the UK. I am very excited about this as I am a big fan of John Frieda Frizz-Ease and love to try any new products from the John Frieda range.
The range is a new innovation designed specifically for women who style or colour their hair on a regular basis. Not only will the range repair the look and feel of hair without weighing it down, but it will also protect against heat damage meaning you can style your hair without the guilt! They've created a cheeky teaser video (which is unbranded).http://youtu.be/OVuMaqJ4hfw- A fun, confession style video of girls talking about how they are style addicts. I'm looking forward to trying this range out as I am definitely a fan of heat styling with my straighteners being used a LOT!!
You can also visit the Facebook Page page for the chance to win the whole John Frieda range. Good luck!!

For The Love of Mac Bare Slimshine
Mac's Bare Slimshine has to be one of my all time favourite lipsticks. It's a beautiful, moisturising formula which feels great on the lips. The colour Bare is just perfect for every day use and can be applied without the use of a mirror.
But since it has been discontinued what next?
As I am nearing the end of my last tube I thought it was time to find a replacement. So yesterday I went to Mac and asked one of the staff what is the nearest thing to Bare Slimshine? She told me it would be Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Bare Again. This cost me £13.50.
I have to say it is almost exactly like Bare Slimshine. Here are the 2 together:
There is no real difference in the colour. The tubes are different and the Bare Again is wider. I'm not sure if it contains more lipstick than Bare Slimshine as I can't see the weight on the tube and I no longer have the box.
Here they are swatched:
Bare Slimshine is the narrower swatch at the top and Bare Again is the wider swatch. Not much between them then. The girl also said they are very similar in texture which was apparent when I swatched them together.
Only time will tell if I will love Bare Again as much as my wee favourite Bare Slimshine RIP.
Have you tried any of the Sheen Supreme lipsticks and are they as lovely or perhaps even nicer than the Slimshines?

Yes to Carrots C Me Blush Lip Tints - Review
"Yes To Carrots is a line of guilt free natural skin and hair products with deliciously nourishing formulas, combining high quality organic fruits and vegetables with the power of 26 minerals and trace elements".
This is a beautiful lip balm with just a hint of colour. The colour I have is Cotton Candy. It is a very pale pink and also has a little bit of shimmer in it.
It is very nourishing on the lips and has a minty smell to it. Great for those times when you have no mints and you think you might need to smell great!!
Here is a glimpse of the shimmer:
It looks lovely on the lips and is perfect for those times when you don't need a full on lipstick but need something that will give you a hint of colour and keeps those lips nourished and kissable!! I found the formula to be very long wearing. It certainly lasted a lot longer on my lips than any other lip balm I have tried. It's also great for those times when you don't have a mirror available. It's simple to apply without looking!!
This lip balm costs £4.99 and is available from Victoria Health and also now available in Waitrose nationwide. I wish we had a Waitrose here:(
The Yes To Range does not test on animals which is very important to a lot of people. If you are looking for a range of excellent cruelty free products then look no further!!
This product was sent to me for review purposes but I would certainly purchase this myself and intend to get a few more colours.

Today's nails are by Nails Inc. The colour is Milan and I got it free in the Diet Coke promotion they did last year. It's a beautiful, classy, bold red. I love it!!

Next Up Naked Lunch
Another of my favourites hit pan today. This is happening a lot lately and it feels great.
This is my go to everyday eyeshadow especially when I'm in a hurry. It's easy to apply, the light colour means you don't have to be exact in your application. It can even be applied without a mirror. I usually sweep it over the lid with a Mac 217 when I'm in a real hurry. If I have an extra 30 seconds to spare I'll apply with a Mac 239 and blend with my 217. It's totally fool proof and looks great on. I then add a brown gel eyeliner and mascara and my eyes are good to go.

NOTD OPI Mod About You
I thought I'd go for a lovely bright pink colour today to help beat the post Christmas blues. Not that I actually have the post Christmas blues but it's a good excuse anyway.
So here it is pictured last night in unnatural light:
As you can see it is a very girly/Barbie pink. Not for the faint hearted as it is really quite bright and bold.
Here it is again in natural light:
It is a very opaque coverage and for this amount of coverage I have used 2 coats. I have also used my Boots 17 base coat and Seche Vite top coat.
I love this colour for an occasional burst of brightness but mostly I prefer the more subtle look.
Today is the last day of the school holidays so I am off to the cinema with my kids to see Alvin and The Chipmonks in Chipwrecked. One of the many many many great things about having kids.
Whatever you are doing have a lovely day xx
